Scheduling and Course Selection

Scheduling Process/Timeline

Students in Grades 9-11: 

November through January: Counselor meetings with individual students 

  • Educational Career Plan (ECP) updates and initial course selection for the 23-24 school year.
  • Course requests may be viewed on Home Access after the counselor/student meeting.

February 6: Students receive their ECP/course request in Advisory and take home for parent/guardian review and approval.

February 10: Approved ECP/course request form is due back to the student's advisor.

Students in Grade 8

  • Early January: Winters Mill counselors visit West Middle (Jan 5) and East Middle (Jan 10) to help students complete Grade 9 Course Selection Sheets.
  • January 10 (6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.): Scheduling Meeting for 8th Grade Parents/Guardians
  • February 2 (5 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.): Winters Mill Semester 2 Open House - 8th grade parents/students may consult with counselors and attend a Scheduling Presentation at 6 p.m. (similar presentation was offered at the Pathways Fair in November).
